What are we fundraising for?

Singleton Environment Centre does not receive any regular running costs from local councils, central government or any other source.

Singleton Spaces has to raise the full cost of the operation and does so from room hire, office rental and surplus from the Footprints Cafe. It pays for the Centre Manager, Cafe staff and running costs.

Everything else is down to the volunteer board and other community supporters.

Singleton Spaces is the charity running  a range of community and schools’ activities such as:

  • Knit ‘n’ Natter in the cafe
  • Repair Café Ashford in the workshop
  • Talk Programme

Children’s activities:

  • Buggin’ About
  • Storysacks
  • Self-guided trail to explore

Mayor’s Charity

Singleton Spaces was delighted to be selected as The Mayor of Ashford, Cllr Jenny Webb,  Mayor of Ashford’s Charity of the Year 2022 -2023. This contributed a signficant sum including for the interpretation panels arouf  the site.

We were delighted to be presented with a cheque from Tesco Park Farm February 2023 for a generous £700. They raised the money from their book stand and we are very thankful for their support. The money will go towards a new handwashing facility for our school and group visits as well as supporting our ongoing educational work. Many thanks to Tesco and its customers.
