Task day on first Saturday of the month

Ashford Community Woodland, next to Singleton Environment Centre, is managed by a volunteer group. It was established in 2000 as a Millennium Project.

Each month the group carries out a practical task day on the first Saturday of the month at 10am in the woodland.

Hedge-laying

Volunteers are always welcome to go along and join in and there are various levels of task for all abilities. These include tree-planting and thinning, laying dead hedges, litter picking, path clearing and a variety of other tasks according to the season.

Extra task days are held when there is a need for more work to be carried out – such as meadow-raking in the summer.

Just turn up in the car park off Singleton Hill wearing suitable clothes. Tools, gloves and refreshments are provided.
