As part of the community and education programme Singleton Spaces holds inspiring talks about nature and conservation in the Hornbeam Room at Singleton Environment Centre. We invite experts and enthusiasts to share their knowledge and passion for the environment through illustrated presentations.

Re-wilding, nature writing, landscape, connectedness, sustainability.

A three-part session led by Angus Willson and Joanne Atkins.
a) readings – summer / autumn
b) book discussion: “All Among the Barley” by Melissa Harrison
c) writing – wildlife themes. Bring your own creativity.

It is not obligatory to have read the book but it would help if you had!

Event is £5 per person. This talk is by John Puckett of the Kent Bats Society. Providing an overview of bats, their anatomy and physiology plus a fascinating insight into the 14 species found in Kent. Booking recommended.

Hedgehogs by Ian Gray of the Kent Mammal Group.
An illustrated talk about hedgehogs, their development and successes, family structure, survival  threats and ways that people can encourage their survival.
